Official announcements of suspension of classes from some schools:
Ateneo de Manila University: "Classes in the Loyola Schools have been suspended today, July 21 from 10 AM onwards. This includes classes for graduate and undergraduate levels. All are advised to exercise caution in travel during this time."
Polytechnic University of the Philippines: "Accodring to Sir Lardizabal: All PUP Meto Manila Campuses are now suspended including Graduate School, Law School and Open University. "
"Classes are suspened 9am onwards in PUP Sta. Mesa including Graduate School and College of Law."
Colegio de San Juan de Letran: "We are suspending classes today due to inclement weather."
University of the Philippines Manila: "From Office of the Chancellor: Saturday classes in UP Manila are cancelled due to inclement weather."
De La Salle University: "DLSU classes at all levels in the Taft, Makati Extension, and Ortigas Extension campuses are suspended for the whole day today, July 21, 2012 due to heavy rains. Office work is also suspended."
University of Santo Tomas: "Because of the continuous heavy downpour, classes in all levels will be suspended today July 21, 2012 from 8:00am onwards. -from the Office of the Secretary-General."
Far Eastern University: "Classes in FEU Manila, FEU EAC and FEU Makati are suspended today, July 21, 2012 due to the non-stop heavy downpour."
Meanwhile, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday raised the red warning signal over nine cities in Metro Manila due to the high amount of rainfall recorded in these areas. PAGASA advised residents in low-lying areas, especially those beside rivers and esteros, to evacuate.
