2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony Live On TV5
The 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony will be aired live on TV5. The live telecast of the three-hour showcase will start at 4 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012.

Called "The Isles of Wonder," the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics has been designed and coordinated by Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle ("Slumdog Millionaire"). The theme of the ceremony is inspired by a passage from William Shakespeare's play "The Tempest."

The £27 million ($42 million, 34.5 million euro) spectacular will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, London, England and will be witnessed by a crowd of 60,000 and a global audience of more than a billion.

According to the official Olympics website, the ceremony will kick off with the sound of the largest harmonically tuned bell in Europe and the stadium will be transformed into a British countryside, featuring real animals.

The games will be officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

More than 120 world leaders are expected to attend the ceremony, while First Lady Michelle Obama will represent the United States alongside a host of celebrities including Angelina Jolie.

As the exclusive television carrier of the 2012 London Olympics in the country, the Kapatid network will broadcast live several Olympic sporting events and updates on the medal tally on TV5 and its affiliate channels including AksyonTV, AKTV and HYPER.
