'Cloud Atlas' Trailer Starring Tom Hanks, Halle Berry

An extended version of the first teaser trailer for "Cloud Atlas" movie has made its way online.

The trailer shows Tom Hanks and Halle Berry inhabiting multiple roles to bring to life the screenplay penned by Tim Tykwer and brothers Lara and Andy Wachowski.

The film is based on an award-winning 2004 novel of the same title by David Mitchell.

In addition to Hanks and Berry, the cast includes Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent.

"Cloud Atlas" will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and will hit commercial theaters starting October 26, 2012.

The official synopsis for "Cloud Atlas" describes the film as "an epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution."
