No wonder why Pinoy pride Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista easily dismantled his Mexican opponent Genaro Garcia at the weekend, he was the wrong Genaro Garcia.

Defending his International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight title, Bautista was supposed to fight the more experienced Genaro “Poblanito” Garcia (37-8 win-loss with 21 knockouts) but the one who fought him in the ring was Genaro “Panterita” Garcia (10-11 with 6 knockouts).

Bautista stopped his bout with Panterita with a knockout in the second round.

"I’m happy that I won, but disappointed at the same time because he’s not the one I was supposed to fight. I really felt bad upon learning about it, but I have no other choice than to face him because he’s already here. In the end, we’re all victims here," Bautista to the Philippine Star.

Filipino promoter Michael Aldeguer said they are planning to take legal action against Mexican agent Hugo Correa who sent the wrong Garcia.

Dubbed as "Pinoy Pride XII: Bakbakan sa Bohol," the fight took place at the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex in Tagbilaran City, Bohol Saturday night.
