Vanessa Minnillo, Nick Lachey expecting first child

Former Miss Teen USA Vanessa Minnillo, who was born to a Filipino mother, and Nick Lachey of American boy band 98 Degrees are expecting their first child, the latter announced on ABC's "Live! With Kelly," which he was co-hosting Monday.

"I've had a chance to do a lot of great things in my career and my life but this is the one thing that, more than any other, I look forward to," the giddy dad-to-be said. "The fact that it's actually here, it's overwhelming."

He added that his wife was due in "late summer, early fall."

After dating for about 5 years, Minnillo, 30, and Lachey, 37, tied the knot in July 2011 on Sir Richard Branson's private Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, with an intimate party of 35 close friends and family.

Lachey was previously married to singer-turned-fashion-mogul Jessica Simpson, who is also pregnant with her first child with her fiance, former NFL player Eric Johnson.
