Khalil Ramos' Debut Album Released

Khalil Ramos
Primetime TV teen sensation Khalil Ramos recently launched his highly anticipated self-titled debut album which he lovingly dedicates to his fans who have supported him since he joined “Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3” last year until now that he is popularly known as one of Kathryn Bernardo’s ‘princes’ in the top-rating drama series of ABS-CBN, “Princess and I.”

“I owe this significant milestone to my fans who backed me up from the very start of my career. If not for them, this album wouldn’t be possible,” said Khalil. ”I am really happy that I have already achieved one of my dreams and I want to share this moment with all my supporters.”

In his first-ever album, the 16-year-old actor-singer showcases his unique flair for alternative rock and ballad. “I’m quite positive that music lovers will appreciate it since it’s something new plus we don’t have much alternative rock and ballad artists here in the Philippines. My covers here are far different from its original versions,” shared Khalil.

According to the teen heartthrob, he was hands-on in putting up his debut album. “Because it’s my first, of course, it had to be great. Everything about it, especially the tracks, were all well thought of,” he said. “Considering the fans, we decided to include “Kung Ako Ba Siya” and “Now Were Together” for ‘Princess and I’ avid viewers and “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” for those who supported me in ‘PGT.”

Now that he is not only an actor but also a full-fledged singer, Khalil shared how he loves doing both. “For me, acting and singing are really similar. Because when I sing, I also act since I have to make the audience feel my songs,” he confessed. “I’m so happy that I’m given the opportunity to do both but if ever I will be asked to choose, I’ll stick with my first love which is singing.”

Completing the tracklist of “Khalil Ramos” album are “One More Chance,” “Simple Lang,” and its carrier single “Kung Ako Na Lang Sana.” Overall producers of the album are Rox Santos, Jonathan Manalo and Roxy Liquigan.

The tracks of Khalil’s debut album are now available for download on www.mymusicstore.com.ph while the CDs can already be purchased in music stores nationwide.

'Michael J. Fox Obituary' Trends Online

Michael J. Fox  (Photo: michaeljfox.org)
"Michael J. Fox Obituary" is among the widely searched keywords in the interwebs right now.

It is not certain as to why "obituary" is being added by netizens in their searches.

There is, however, an entry on Necropedia.org for Michael J. Fox's "anticipated" obituary which says the actor will die on August 18, 2012. The entry reads:
Death of Michael J. Fox.

Michael J. Fox, born on June 9, 1961 in Edmonton, was an American actor of Canadian origin. He died on August 18, 2012, at the age of 51.

The news has left the world shocked and saddened.
But the website also has "anticipated" obituaries for several other living stars.

"It is common for news agencies to keep pre-written obituary for public figures, famous and high-profile people who are still alive." the site writes. "It is by no means a death announcement nor an anticipation of death."

No, Michael J. Fox is not yet dead. In fact, he is preparing for his TV comeback. The TV project is reportedly in the works at Sony Pictures Television and is slated to be released in 2013.

Fox, 51, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, prompting him to reduce his workload. He has since become an activist for research toward finding a cure.

Anthony Taberna investigates reports that the goods bought for victims of floods that hit Manila recently turn out to be spoiled and inedible.

This Monday (Aug 13) on ABS-CBN’s investigative program “XXX,” Anthony goes to the city of Taguig to find out how a rice supplier accredited by the National Food Authority sold rice that were not suitable for human consumption.

Pinky Webb revisits a group of minors called “jumper boys” who were caught on video by “XXX” boldly jumping on big trucks plying C2 Road in Tondo, Manila to steal whatever goods were on board before jumping off.

Meanwhile, Julius Babao exposes another modus operandi wherein swindlers victimize businessmen by paying them with fake checks in late afternoons when these can no longer be verified because banks have closed by then.

Julius learns from a victim in Cubao, who lost P500,000, that the swindlers would place orders in the morning and go back in the afternoon with a check payment that the victim would later discover as fake.

Find out the full details on “XXX” this Monday (Aug 13) after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN or watch it earlier at DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable ch 26) the same night at 9:15 p.m.

Bieber Slams Prince William's Thinning Hair

Bieber Slams Prince William's Receding Hairline
Justin Bieber is completely baffled as to why Prince William has not fixed his long noted slight hair loss.

"I mean, there are things to prevent that nowadays, like Propecia. I don't know why he doesn't just get those things, those products. You just take Propecia and your hair grows back. Have you not got it over here?" Bieber told Rollercoater magazine, which featured the teen sensation on the cover of its latest issue.

Unsurprisingly, Bieber received quite a bit on backlash from the Brits after the "Boyfriend" singer made the comments about UK's future King.

"The Brits are viewing Justin Bieber's diss about Prince William's challenging hair problem in the same way you view an annoying fly buzzing around you. He needs to be swatted away," British journalist and author of "Wicked Whispers," Jessica Callan, told the Huffington Post. "Wills and Prince Harry may joke about William's thinning hair, but that doesn't mean a kid like Justin can come sauntering in and join in the joke. It's like inviting someone over for dinner and they tell you how awful your carpet is. Even if you agree, how dare they say it? So the Biebs had better watch out! Wills may be thinning on top but he is one cool royal and landed himself the hottest future queen England has ever had. How can Justin and his girly hairstyle possibly compete with that?"

What do you think of Bieber's comments?

PNoy Bashes Noli De Castro At TV Patrol 25th Anniversary

PNoy Vs Kabayan
President Noynoy "PNoy" Aquino lashed out at "TV Patrol" main anchor and former Vice President Noli "Kabayan" de Castro during the 25th anniversary celebration of the ABS-CBN news program at the Manila Hotel on Friday night. The President described Kabayan as skeptical, who gives negative remarks on otherwise good stories by the field reporters.

Check out below excerpts of PNoy's speech at the 25th anniversary celebration of "TV Patrol" below:

James Holmes: 'Joker' Looks Dazed In First Court Appearance (Video)

James Holmes, "The Joker," Appears In Court
James Holmes, who told the police he was "The Joker" after his arrest, looked dazed during his first court appearance on Monday.

Sitting silently in a red jailhouse jump suit and with his hair dyed bright red, Holmes appeared sleepy and seemingly inattentive, looking straight ahead and occasionally closing his eyes. He was shackled at the wrists and ankles.

When Arapahoe County District Judge William Sylvester asked Holmes a question, he remained expressionless and his attorney answered for him.

At the hearing the judge set a date of next Monday for formal charges to be filed. A public defender was appointed as his attorney.

Check out a video of Holmes during the court hearing below:

Holmes, 24, is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 58 in a shooting rampage at a packed midnight screening of the new Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises," in Aurora, Colorado last Friday.

Upon his arrest shortly after the shooting spree, Holmes reportedly told the police that he was "The Joker."

"It clearly looks like a deranged individual. He has his hair painted red. He said he was the Joker, obviously the enemy of Batman," said New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

Born December 13, 1987, Jame Holmes spent at least part of his childhood in San Diego, where he attended Westview High School. A yearbook showed he played soccer on the junior varsity team.

The University of California-Riverside, confirmed that a student named James Eagan Holmes, with the same date of birth, graduated with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience in 2010.

After completing his bachelor's degree, Holmes enrolled in the competitive graduate neuroscience program in June 2011.  He resigned without explanation from the program June 10, the university said on Sunday.

On a rental application, Holmes described himself as "quiet" and "easy-going."

His only police record was a traffic ticket in 2011. The car he was driving to the theater had Tennessee plates.

Tom Hardy, Pure Menace As Bane In 'Dark Knight Rises'

Tom Hardy As Bane
Tom Hardy is playing the role of masked villain named Bane in the Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises."

While the Scarecrow was a madman and the Joker an anarchist, “Bane is a terrorist in both his mentality and his actions,” says Hardy. “He is physically intimidating and he’s also very intelligent, which makes him even more dangerous.”

Director Christopher Nolan relates, “In deciding on who the next villain would be, it was imperative that it was someone completely different from the Joker - that he be a brute force. The physical component of what Bruce Wayne does as Batman is of extraordinary importance, and we had not truly challenged that in the first two films. I really wanted to see Batman meet his match physically, as well as intellectually. Bane is raw strength with a fanatical devotion to duty, and that combination makes him unstoppable.”

“This is the first time it appears highly unlikely that Batman will come out on top in a physical altercation,” allows Christian Bale who plays the superhero. “He has been dormant for years, so he’s in a weakened condition to begin with, and Bane is not only incredibly strong but ruthless in terms of his sheer militancy and the ideology that drives him.”

Bane, however, has no such compunctions. Everything he does is a means to an end. Hardy attests, “Bane has come to do a job and has no feelings of remorse or shame about the death and destruction he’s causing. There is nothing ambiguous about Bane. He is clearly a villain…just a horrible piece of work.”

Bane is infamous among Batman comic fans for the terrible harm he inflicts on the Caped Crusader. Having recently worked with Hardy on “Inception,” Nolan knew he could project an extreme physical and psychological threat despite having to act from behind a mask. “When you’re creating a monstrous presence like Bane in a movie, you could concentrate just on the physical or you could focus on the more psychological aspects. With Tom, I knew I would get the whole package. He is such an incredible actor; he was able to depict this beast of a man who has exceptional fighting skills, but also able to convey the soul of someone who is damaged inside as well as out. Tom is the kind of actor who relished the challenge of having to generate an entire performance with most of his face covered up. What he is able to do with just his eyes is truly amazing.”

Hardy states that the mask was not a deterrent when given an opportunity to rejoin the director, especially on a Dark Knight film. “Chris called me up and said there was a role I might be good for, but he wasn’t sure I’d be interested because I’d have to wear a mask for several months. He wouldn’t tell me anything else about the character, except that he was a very bad guy. I said, ‘Let me get this straight: you want me to come and work with you, travel around the world, have a stunt team and all the weapons I could possibly want to play with, and all I have to do is wear a mask?’ He answered, ‘Yeah, pretty much…’ And I said, ‘I’m in!’”

Unlike Batman, Bane does not wear a mask to conceal his identity, but to anesthetize himself against excruciating pain, resulting from injuries he suffered long ago. Countering Nolan’s concerns, Hardy says, “I didn’t feel limited by the mask. What’s cool about it is, as soon as you put it on, you become the character.”

The actor adds that his portrayal of Bane entailed creating a contradiction between the voice and the body. “He is florid in his speech, but has the physicality of a gorilla. So while he is quite articulate, we also wanted to establish a very imposing presence.”

Rapper Pitbull Headed To Remote Alaska Walmart After Facebook Poll

Rapper Pitbull Exiled To Alaska
Miami-based rapper Pitbull is heading to Kodiak Walmart in Alaska, which is said to be the most remote branch of the retail giant.

This is after pranksters invaded a Facebook poll by Walmart which encouraged its parishioners to "like" the Walmart store they want Pitbull to visit.

Spotting a window of opportunity, David Thorpe and John Hendren of online comedy site Something Awful initiated operation "Exile Pitbull" on Twitter, urging people to vote for Kodiak.

"Pitbull is having a contest where he'll visit the local Walmart that gets the most FB Likes. [Jon Hendren] and I are sending him to Kodiak, Alaska," Thorpe tweeted.

By the time the voting period for the poll closed at 4 p.m. Sunday, the Kodiak Walmart attracted more than 70,000 likes on the page.

On Tuesday, Pitbull posted a video to his official YouTube page announcing, "I heard Kodiak, Alaska has the most likes, due to someone that thinks he was playing a prank."

"What you gotta understand is, I will go anywhere in the world for my fans," he said.

Kodiak Island is about 225 miles southwest of Anchorage. It's home to the nation's largest Coast Guard base, and the island is known for its Kodiak brown bear population.
