Honda Recall Affects 554,000 SUVs In America

Honda recall affects 554,000 SUVs in the US.
The most recent Honda recall affects approximately 554,000 sport utility vehicles in the United States.

Honda Motor Co. Ltd. said Friday that it is recalling this number of CR-V crossover SUVs from model years 2002 to 2004 and Pilot SUVs from model year 2003 to inspect and replace components of the headlight wiring system.

Honda said that there is a potential failure with the wiring of the headlight switch which may cause the low beam headlights to become inoperative. The loss of the low beam headlights may increase the risk of a crash. However, there have been no crashes or injuries reported related to this issue.

Owners of all affected vehicles are encouraged to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda. The notification will mailed to customers starting late-April 2012. In addition to contacting customers by mail, in late-April, owners of these vehicles will be able to determine if their vehicles require repair by going on-line to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009, and selecting option 4.
