'Titanic 3D' heading to cinemas April 7

"Titanic," James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster hit starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, will be re-released in 3D this April, in time for the 100th anniversary of  the sinking of the Titanic ship.

According to  reports, "Titanic 3D" is scheduled to be screened on April 7 in theaters across the Philippines.

"Titanic," the second-highest grossing movie of all time, is one of only three films to have received a record 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director; and launched the careers of DiCaprio and Winslet.

In the film, a 100-year-old woman named Rose DeWitt Bukator tells the story to her granddaughter about her life set in April 10th 1912, on a ship called Titanic when young Rose boards the departing ship with the upper-class passengers. She explains the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first and last voyage April 15th, 1912.
