KC Concepcion lands on Complex magazine's 'sexiest international actresses' list

Kapamilya actress-host KC Concepcion made it to the list of "25 Sexiest International Actresses You Haven't Heard Of" by New York-based lifestyle magazine, Complex.

Concepcion was ranked 23rd in the magazine's list of "hottest thespians overseas."

"KC Concepcion was born into fame: her father is 80’s heartthrob Gabby Concepcion and her mother is the “Philippine Movie Queen” Sharon Cuneta. KC is basically royalty, but she’s not riding on her mother’s coattails. She’s the UN’s National Ambassador Against Hunger, she starred in the highest grossing Philippine movie in 2008, For the First Time, she released her first album KC and she's set to host The X Factor Philippines," Complex wrote

The list also includes familiar faces such as Jericho Rosales' leading lady in "Kahit Isang Saglit," Malaysian actress Carmen Soo (#5); star of Koreanovela "Stairway To Heaven" Kim Tae-Hee (#24); and American TV stars Ashley Madekwe of "Revenge" (#2) and Katie McGrath of "Merlin" (#8).

KC Concepcion to star with Gretchen Barretto and Angelica Panganiban in 'Alta'

KC Concepcion will not just be hosting on TV this year. Megastar's daughter is also set to showcase her acting skills in an upcoming teleserye on ABS-CBN, "Alta," which will also star Gretchen Barretto and Angelica Panganiban.

"Alta," which originated from the Spanish word "alta de sociedad" or high society, will be about glitz, glamor, deceit, vengeance and other facets of the luxurious world of high society.

In the series, KC will play as the younger sister of Gretchen, a dead-set on turning against the expectations that comes with being part of rich family.

KC said in an interview that she had to lose weight for the series and attend an acting workshop.

The Kapamilya actress had also expressed her excitement over the three main characters of the primetime soap.

"It’s really exciting kasi nag-shoot na kaming tatlong girls. Ako, na-e-excite ako kung ano kaya mangyayari sa kanilang tatlo, iba-ibang hugot ng damdamin, ng emosyon… Iba-iba yung kwento nilang tatlo e. It’s a new thing for me. Sa three years ko sa showbiz, ang dami ko ng nagawa pero this project makes me realize na madami pa akong pwedeng gawin," KC told Push in November.

The series will also star Zanjoe Marudo, Luis Manzano and Diether Ocampo.

KC Concepcion visits Bagyong Sendong victims in CDO

KC Concepcion joined other local artists in distributing aid to the victims of Bagyong Sendong in Cagayan de Oro (CDO). KC was on an official visit as the national Ambassador Against Hunger of the United Nations World Food Programme. KC said their group went to CDO to give fortified food, water and other basic needs to the people affected by the storm.

KC also shared her experience in the areas devastated by Sendong.

"I was amazed how eerie it felt. It is quite depressing. It was ironically peaceful at the time that we went," KC told ANC.

"It is important to show them [Sendong victims] that they are not alone," she added.

The World Food Programme is also providing psycho-social debriefing to children to help them cope with the trauma brought on by the catastrophe.

Among the celebrities who had gone to the areas badly hit by Sendong to help in handing out relief goods were Kris Aquino, Angel Locsin, Anne curtis, Vice Ganda, Diether Ocampo, Sam Milby, Derek Ramsay and Nikki Valdez.

Meanwhile, according to the latest data from the National Disaster and Risk Reduction Council, the Sendong death toll has now rose to 1,100. And from just 51 yesterday, the number of missing individuals has drastically jumped to 1,079.

KC Concepcion to sing at SEA Games 2011 opening

Kapamilya singer-actress KC Concepcion will be performing at the opening ceremonies of the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games on November 11, 2011 in Palembang, Indonesia.

KC Concepcion will be singing “Together We Will Shine” with Indonesian actress-singer Agnes Mojica and Malaysian songstress Jacklyn Victor.

Fresh from her successful US Tour with Piolo Pascual and Yeng Constantino, KC flew to Indonesia Wednesday to rehearse for her SEA Games 2011 stint.

“Hi guys! 4 planes, 2 sunrises,1 sunset & 27 hours later... I am now officially a CLOUD IMMIGRANT! :) For now? Touchdown: Palembang, Sumatra!” KC posted on Twitter on November 9.

The SEA Games 2011 opening rites will be aired live on Studio 23 on November 11 at 8 p.m.
