Their six-month relationship played out largely under the radar, but now Nickelback's frontman Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne want to shout it from the rooftops: they are getting married!

The Canadian rockers met in February, when Chad and Avril first got together to write a song for her upcoming studio album. Chad, 37, and Avril, 27, fell hard, because on August 8th, Chad presented the Canadian songstress with a 14-carat diamond ring.

This will be the first marriage for Chad. Avril was previously married to Sum 31's Deryck Whibley, they divorced in 2009.

UPDATE: People Magazine has gotten their hands on a photo of Avril and Chad together. The photo also gives plenty of opportunity to admire Avril's 14-carat, pear-shaped engagement ring!

Zach Galifianakis to wed!

Zach Galifianakis has gotten down on one knee and proposed to his longtime love Quinn Lundberg. The couple are to wed on August 11th, according to Celebuzz, who obtained a copy of the wedding invite.

A source told Celebuzz, "While it has the formal and standard details of who, what, when, where - including Zach's full name, Zachary Knight Galifianakis, and his fiancée's, Mary Quinn Lundberg - it is also very funny. Zach included a drawing of himself and his bride-to-be. He made sure he looked like a little troll, while Quinn is a stunning blonde princess."

It is not disclosed when the Hangover star, 42, and his fiancée, who is a vice president and co-founder of Growing Voices (a charity dedicated to supporting community-based projects and organizations that encourage development and reconstruction at the local level), got engaged. Zach's rep was not available for comment.

Trace Cyrus and Brenda Song are no longer engaged. Trace, 23, released a statement that said, "Brenda and I have decided to go our separate ways. We split up a couple of months ago. We will continue to focus on our careers. I wish Brenda the best and much success in the future. I hope everyone can respect our privacy about this situation."

The former lead singer of Metro Station, who now performs under the name Ashland High, and the actress, 24, got engaged last October. They announced their engagement right after pregnancy rumours broke. In January Trace said that the couple had not set a wedding date yet and were planning on being engaged for a while. The tattood rock artist, who recently shaved his head in order to make room for more tattoos, and the Disney actress, who recently appeared in The Social Network, wanted to focus on their careers first.

News of the couple's split breaks a mere week after sister Miley Cyrus announced her engagement to Liam Hemsworth.

Liam Hemsworth popped the question! Miley Cyrus announced to People Magazine that she is engaged to be married to Liam Hemsworth. In a statement the 19-year old singer and Hannah Montana actress says, "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."

Liam, 22, proposed on May 31st with a 3.5 carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane. The celebrity jeweler told People that Liam asked for "something unusual. Something really beautiful and romantic." Liam and Neil Lane went back and forth until Liam was satisfied. The final pick was a 3.5 carat cushion-cut diamond handcrafted in 18-karat gold. The ring has a distinct art nouveau pattern with handcarved diamond floral motifs. The center stone is highlighted by smaller stones set in the gold band. The jeweler says, "The light flashes and sparkles no matter where Miley moves her hand." The center stone is an antique from the late 19th century. Neil Lane says, "It was hand-cut around 1880 or 1890 and it's unique and in its original form. At that time no two diamonds were alike, as they were all hand-cut, so it's fascinating to look at because it hasn't been re-cut to look contemporary over the years. I find that really romantic."

Miley and Liam, 22, met when filming for The Last Song in 2009 and have been a couple ever since. Miley is currently in the studio working on a new album, whereas Chris Hemsworth younger brother is filming Empire State in New Orleans. Afterwards he'll film Paranoia with Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, as well as the second installment of The Hunger Games.

Amar'e Stoudemire is engaged

Amar'e Stoudemire can add fiancé to his resumé. The New York Knicks captain and six-time NBA All-star popped the question to Alexis Welch, the mother of his three children, in Paris on Saturday night.

Amar'e, 29, told People Magazine, "I have been planning my proposal for a while and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place. I am so happy she said 'yes', and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife." The pro-basketball player proposed at 11 p.m. local time outside of their penthouse at Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile Royal Suite, whilst overlooking the Eiffel tower. He designed the engagement ring with Los Angeles based jeweler Shayan Afshar. The 8.5 carat radiant-cut ring has 3.50 carats of flawless diamonds set in 18-carat white gold, it is worth more than $1 million.

Amar'e and Alexis have been together for 10 years (minus the time he was with Ciara). Theymet in 2002, when he was playing with the Phoenix Suns. They have three children (two girls, one boy), the oldest two being daughter A're (born in 2005) and son Amar'e Jr. (born in 2006). They plan to wed in 2013.

Keira Knightley is engaged!

Keira Knightley said "yes". The Pirates of the Caribbean star and James Righton, boyfriend of one year, are engaged to be married. Keira's publicist Sarah Keene confirmed the news to the Associated Press.

Keira, 27, and The Klaxons musician, 28, were first spotted together in April last year. Supposedly they were introduced to each other by mutual friend Alexa Chung. No details on their wedding planning have been released.

Today the couple was spotted out and about and involving in some serious PDA (public display of affection): holding hands, cuddling and kissing. Keira also showed off her beautiful engagement ring: a thin gold band with a singular diamond. She wore another ring on her left hand as well: a Love ring by Zoe and Morgan.

Up until Friday, Keira and James have kept their relationship under wraps. They have been photographed together near their East London home, but have not graced a red carpet together. So the only photos available are 'leisure' photos of the engaged couple (something I'm usually against, but they're so cute together that it's okay for this time).

Jared Followill and Martha Patterson are engaged to be married. Jared, 25, proposed to Martha, 21, on April 11th in Nashville. He personally designed the ring, a 4-carat cushion-cut diamond on a diamond-covered band.

The bass player for Kings of Leon and the model started dating in January. Jared tweeted the good news, "It's true! I'm engaged! CANNOT wait to finally lose my virginity."

Jared is the last Kings' member to settle down. Jared's brother Nathan married Jessie Baylin in November 2009. Other brother, singer Caleb Followill married Lily Aldridge in May 2011, the couple is expecting their first child this summer. Cousin and guitarist Matthew Followill and wife Johanna Bennett welcomed son Knox, 1, in April 2011.

It's official! Olivier Martinez and Halle Berry are engaged!

After being spotted wearing an emeral ring, it was soon rumoured that Olivier Martinez had proposed to Halle Berry. Now, Olivier has finally confirmed the news. He told the Miami Herald, whilst promoting his new restaurant Villa Azur, "Yes, of course it's true."

Contrary to rumours, the ring was designed by Parisian jeweller, Robert Mazloum from the jewellery house 'Mazlo'. Olivier called him "a real artist", who has designed and made jewellery for "kings and queens for many centuries."

Halle, 45, and Olivier, 46, started dating after starring together in the 2010 movie "Dark Tide." This will be Olivier's first marriage and Halle's third, she has almost 4-year old daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.

Snooki confirms engagement and pregnancy

All those rumours are true! Snooki and Jionni LaValle, boyfriend of one and a half years, are engaged and expecting a Jersey baby.

Snooki's spokesperson said to People Magazine, "We can officially confirm that Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is pregnant and engaged to her boyfriend Jionni LaValle. Nicole is thrilled to finally be able to share her happy news with her fans."

Whether or not the pregnancy has consequences for a sixth Jersey Shore season is unclear. Currently Snooki and JWoww, Jenni Farley, are filming their spinoff series. The focus lies on their friendship and life as roommates, Snooki's pregnancy and engagement will not alter the focus of the show.

Meanwhile fiance Jionni has taken to Twitter, "Thank You everyone!! Sorry about that wait but glad everyones happy!!" Nicole and I are real excited!! Our baby is going to be #ShortnTan" He also had a message for all the not-so-well-wishers, "For All u jealous, disrespectful haters out there, u see what u wana see on tv! My fiancé and I n JR are going to be so happy! #youllgeturs"

Ne-Yo shares lots of good news

There's a lot of happy news coming from the R&B corner. Singer Ne-Yo has proposed to his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw. She happily accepted, but it's not the only good news the couple has to share: they're expecting a baby too!
Shaffer Smith Jr., that's Ne-Yo's real name, and his fiancée are already parents to 10-month old daughter Madilyn Grace. According to reports the new addition to the family can be expected as soon as October.

Ne-Yo, 31, is a real family man. He was raised by a single mother, after his parents split up. The singer is all to aware of difficult societal situations and therefore, he has founded The Compound Foundation. The organisation helps children in foster homes reach their full potential. Ne-Yo has said about the Foundation, "Every Mother's Day we select five foster mothers that are going above and beyond, and we make the whole day about them. Either I'll perform or I'll get on of my friends to perform and it's just a whole day dedicated to those foster mothers, giving them the opportunity to just take a break and be appreciated. We've gone to visit the families, we do a camp every year. An entrepeneurial camp. Just making sure these kids get those opportunities."

Chloe Lattanzi has called off her wedding to fiancé James Driskill, after she found out that he is already married. The 25-year old singer and daughter of Grease actress Olivia Newton-John was set to marry the martial arts expert later this year.

Chloe found out that James had married Nina, a Swiss national, in 2005 and they never divorced. Furthermore, it is said that he was still living under the same roof with Nina, albeit already separated, when he met Chloe in 2009. Australian New Idea magazine quotes a friend of L.A.-based Chloe as saying, "Chloe is devastated and so is her mum. She's had to deal with so much emotional turmoil already in her life, and everyone was thrilled that she finally seemed to find happiness." Olivia is said to do everything in her power to help her daughter overcome her heartache.

James, who met Chloe at an L.A. club where he worked as a bouncer, said to friends that he didn't divorce Nina due to a "combination of lack of money and lack of experience." He now wants to postpone the wedding to early next year. However, Chloe is in no rush to get to the altar. New Idea quotes her friend as saying, "Olivia is very protective of her daughter and wants to make sure that she does not get hurt [more] then she already is."

I wonder why James hadn't dropped this bombshell before they got engaged and started wedding planning. After all, being married already severely cuts you chances - read: there's 0 percent chance- of getting married again, to someone else.

Donald Faison has asked his longtime girlfriend CaCee Cobb to marry him and she said yes!

News of the engagement was spread by Donald's best friend and former co-star Zach Braff, who tweeted on Friday, "Congrats to @donald_faison and @caceecobb on their engagement. Just wish I was there to run around you both with sparklers."

Donald tweeted a clue, saying "If you like it then you better put a Ring on it -Beyonce," to which CaCee replied, "If she likes it then she better say YES!!"

This will be Donald's second marriage. According to IMDB, the 37-year old Scrubs, Clueless and Remember the Titans actor was married to Lisa Askey from 2001 to 2005. They have three children together, fraternal twins Kaya and Dade (born in 1999) and son Kobe (born 2001). He also has a son, Sean (born in 1996), from his relationship with Audrey Ince.

CaCee, 33, is known as the former personal assistant to her friend Jessica Simpson. She co-starred on The Price of Beauty and Newlyweds.

Scott MacIntyre and his girflfriend Christina Teich are husband and wife. The American Idol finalist, the first blind person to make it to the final rounds, met his wife in a community theatre production of The Music Man, back in 2003.

The singer proposed to her over afternoon tea in February. "The tea sandwiches came out, then the scones, then the pastries ... and normally that's where it would've ended ... but then a fourth course arrived – a silver platter covered in rose petals with the ring box in the center. I got down on one knee, and the rest is history," he said of the proposal.

The couple got married on Thursday in Scottsdale, Arizona. Scott even wrote a song for his bride, called "Wanna Be There", that he performed at the ceremony. They will spend their honeymoon on Kauai, Hawaii.

Kat von D and Jesse James are back together and engaged again. Both Jesse and Kat posted photos of themselves in embraces on twitter. Jesse added, "Para siempre" to his photo, Spanish for "forever".

Jesse made an official statement to People Magazine, he said, "Sometimes you are only given one chance in life. It was up to me to open my eyes and see it. That girl is my chance. I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her. Showing her how special she is, and how much I love her."

The news that Kat is wearing her engagement ring again, comes right after network TLC announced that this season will be the last for Kat's show L.A. Ink. The network said in a statement, "TLC has decided that the current season of L.A. Ink will be its last," they said in a statement. "The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D's journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air September 15th at 10 p.m."

This season will play out the relationship between Jesse and Kat, from the lovey-dovey moments to its downfall, that led the couple to call off their engagement.

Tara Reid is a married woman. The 35-year old American Pie actress married in Greece on Saturday. There were some initial reports claiming that she married Danish businessman Michael Lilleund, but she clarified it, by tweeting, "His name is Zack Kehayov."

Tara frequently tweeted from her vacation address, announcing on Saturday, "I just got engaged!" and a few hours later, "Just got married in Greece. I love being a wife."

Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner are engaged! Heather's rep confirmed the good news to US Magazine. The couple began dating in 2007, even though they played each other's love interests in Melrose Place.

Heather was previously married to Tommy Lee, from 1986 to 1993, and Richie Sambora, from 1994 to 2006. She has a daughter, Ava, from her marriage to Richie Sambora. Jack was previously married to Kristina Wagner with whom he has two sons, Peter III and Harrison.

Ricki Lake is engaged! She tweeted a photo of her and her now-fiancé, Christian Evans, along with the text, "Thrilled to share some happy news with you." Ricki and Christian have been together since last summer. She recently told People Magazine, "He's everything to me." At the time she said of their relationship, "I'm totally in love," and, "I'm happier than I've ever been."

This will be Ricki's second marriage. She has two sons, Milo, 14, and Owen, 10, from her marriage to artist Rob Sussman. Her first marriage ended in divorce in 2005.

Lauren Bush and David Lauren celebrated their engagement last Saturday with an all-white themed engagement party in the Hamptons. The party of the granddaughter of former president George H.W. Bush and niece of former president George W. Bush and the son of designer Ralph Lauren was hosted by Hearst heiress Anne Hearst and her husband, Jay McInerney. Guests were all the Laurens, Rick and Kathy Hilton - parents of Paris and Nicky -, Lauren's mother Sharon Bush, and designers Cynthia Rowley and Douglas Hannant. The guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner and speeches by Sharon Bush and Rick Hilton.

The wedding will take place at the Colorado ranch of the Lauren family. Lauren's grandfather, George H.W. Bush is expected to attend. With so much 'Lauren' going on, what will Lauren Bush do with her surname? Stay Lauren Bush, become Lauren Lauren? "I think that it will be Lauren Bush-Lauren," she told People Magazine in April. "That's not final, but I think it's nice to have the same name as your husband. I am sort of old-fashioned that way." Whereas the name might change, choosing a wedding dress designer is a no-brainer, her future father-in-law, Ralph Lauren, will create a dress.

Dutch presenter, actress and model Nicolette van Dam recently announced her pregnancy and now she's got more good news to share: she got engaged too!

Bas proposed to Nicolette, 26, when on holiday on Richard Branson's private Necker Island. The ingredients for the proposal were beach, torches, and waves breaking on the shore. It was there that Bas dropped onto one knee and popped the question. Her initial reaction was "oh no" - as in, what are you doing? - but she quickly said yes, after which they both cried tears of joy.

The couple will get married after the arrival of their first child in February. Nicolette has said that she's going to enjoy being pregnant AND engaged first, before the couple will tie the knot.

Michael Kors and Lance LePere are planning a wedding

On Wednesday Michael Kors and Lance LePere obtained a marriage license in New York City. The famed designer says, "Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together."

This June the bill legalizing same-sex marriage came through in the state of New York. Michael, 51, and Lance aren't planning on a big wedding. "We have no plans for a major party, but we will be getting married privately."
