Controversial Bayo Ads To Be Pulled Out

Bayo Ads
Women’s fashion brand Bayo will be taking down its controversial "What's Your Mix" ad campaign after drawing criticisms for placing a premium on mixed-race models.

"We, at Bayo, deeply apologize for the message our campaign 'What's Your Mix: - has unintentionally conveyed." the company said in a statement. "We would like to express our regrets to those who have been offended or felt discriminated against."

It added: 'Our company and our partners have always taken pride in being pro-Filipino as we continue to celebrate our uniqueness and achievements. We believe that being a Filipino will always make you 100% beautiful. It is unfortunate that this message got lost along the way."

Bayo's "What's Your Mix" campaign features mixed-race models in an attempt to portray beauty in racial diversity. However, it has received flak from social media users who find it "demeaning" and "racist."

A Bayo rep told ABS-CBN that the ads will pulled out as they come up with a new concept for their campaign in the coming days.
