Michael Jackson's death anniversary was commemorated by the Twitterverse on Monday.

Three years after his death, Michael Jackson was remembered by fans all over the world by turning to Twitter to express how they miss the music legend, facilitating "RIP Michael Jackson," "#RIPMJ," and "King of Pop" to be among the top trending topics on the microblogging site. Mj's daughter, Paris, was one of them.

"RIP Michael Jackson .. Dad you will forever be in my heart <3 i love you," Paris tweeted.

Michael Jackson died at the age 50 of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication on June 25, 2009, after suffering from cardiac arrest. Michael's untimely demise triggered grief around the world, creating unprecedented surges of Internet traffic and causing sales of his music and that of the Jackson 5 to increase dramatically. A public memorial service for the singer was held on July 7, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where he had rehearsed for the London concerts the night before his death. The service was broadcast live around the world, attracting a global audience of up to one billion people.
