Manny Paquiao, etc. recognized at the People of the Year Awards

The presentation ceremony of the 2012 People of the Year Awards was held last night at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City.

Among this year's awardees was eight-division boxing champ and Sarangani representative Manny Pacquiao who was also hailed as "Man of the Decade." He was joined by the following personalities:

 ---Shamcey Supsup - Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up
---Gwendoline Ruais - Miss World 2011 first runner-up
---Edgardo Angara - Longest serving Philippine Senator post-EDSA
---Miriam Defensor-Santiago - Senator, Elected as judge in the International Criminal Court (ICC) last year
---Henry Sy. Jr - CEO of SM Development Corp.
---Jun de Leon - Photographer extraordinaire
---Ben Cabrera - National artist
---Louie Ocampo - Celebrated composer
---Evelyn Singson - President of the Philippine Hoteliers Inc.
---Ted Failon - ABS-CBN newscaster
---Mel Tiangco - GMA-7 newscaster

Given to individuals who excelled in their respective fields and who "have made a difference in the lives of Filipinos in one way or another," the People of Year Awards is presented annually by the PeopleAsia magazine and the Philippines Star Media Group.
