Born On This Day- July 12th... Cheyenne Jackson

Cheyenne Jackson is just too much of everything. Is it possible for a man to be so good looking, talented, principled, well liked in the industry & be so easy going about being out & proud?  Have you heard his fabulous 2008 album with Michael Feinstien – The Power of 2,or caught his hilarious turn on 30 Rockas Danny, the irony free Canadian brought on to The Girly Show (the show within a show) to attract Middle-American viewers, or his leading man roles in Broadway runs of Xanadu , Finian’s Rainbow or Damn Yankees on Broadway?

I saw him on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen & I was disarmed by his natural charm & charisma. How funny was it that he came clean as a Bravo watcher & that he was fan of all The Real Housewives Shows?

Jackson had been dating physicist Monte Lapka for 10+ years when the couple exchanged vows in the Hamptons in September 2011, just weeks after same-sex marriage came into force in the state.

Cheyenne Jackson & I might be fated to meet, as it seems that he has been chasing me across the cosmos.

He grew up in a Christian Conservative family, in a small town just outside of my hometown of Spokane, & later moved to that city when he graduated high school. Jackson: “Growing up gay in that town was very hard, but my parents were awesome."

My first professional job, at 17 years old, was doing summer stock in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. I was thrilled with this job. I was making $125 a week, plus room & board. I thought I was rich! I was making a living as an actor! Decades later, Jackson’s first professional show, at age 18, was doing summer theater in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where he was making $280 a week. Jackson: “I thought I was so rich!"

In the1980s & 1990s, I worked steadily as an actor in Seattle including featured roles at Seattle Civic Light Opera (Horace Vandergelder in Hello Dolly! & Hysterium in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum)& at The Village Theatre. Jackson worked from the late 1990s on, in musicals & revues at Seattle Civic Light Opera, & at Village Theatre, playing leads in Grease, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor  Dreamcoat, & West Side Story in 2000 & 2001… just as I was leaving Seattle to move to Portland. Late that year, he was in the ensemble of The Prince & the Pauper at the Fifth Avenue Theatre. In the spring of 2002, he starred in the Fifth Avenue’s production of The Most Happy Fella & the revival of Hair, just as I was starting over in my new city. I can only rest assured that we were NEVER up for the same role.

Jackson had one contact when he moved to NYC- actor Marc Kudisch, for whom he was once an understudy in Seattle. Kudisch set Jackson up with an agent, who signed him on the spot. Within a few weeks, Jackson was cast in his first Broadway show after going to only a single audition. He was just shy of his 27th birthday.

In more crazy parallels in our lives, I moved to NYC with only a single contact, I had one audition for a Broadway show, I once had a 27th birthday, I once had an agent & well… I have seen Broadways shows! I feel with so much in common, we must be fated to meet.

Jackson on being openly gay in Hollywood: “The more it happens, the easier it is for others, although I do understand why some actors choose not to come out. I have several famous friends who are still in the closet.”

On working with Alec Baldwin: “I’ve learned to be totally comfortable around Alec Baldwin, but he used to scare the crap out of me. He’s so alpha male. He’ll move you out of the way if you’re in his light, and one time I thought he was done talking & I started to say something & he put his big beefy hand on my arm to silence me.”

He has an album of self-penned tunes- Drive, to be released in August. Cheyenne Jackson turns 37 years old today. I was once 37 years old, although I don’t remember anything from that year.

Anderson Copper Has A Birthday

It was love at first sight. I saw him reporting from Africa on ABC in the mid-1990s, & my heart went up to my throat. He sends me subliminal messages while broadcasting nightly on CNN.

Anderson Cooper, who has made disaster coverage his trademark, has owned the coverage of the BP oil spill, just as he did with Katrina, the earthquake in Hatia, & the tornado in Joplin, MO. When President Obama was touring the damage from the BP Oil spill, he told a Parish leader: “if anything goes wrong, call the White House before you call Anderson Cooper.”

Anderson Hays Cooper is the son of the writer Wyatt Emory Cooper & artist, designer, writer, & heiress Gloria Vanderbilt. He is a great-great-great-grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt of the Vanderbilt shipping fortune.

Anerson Cooper was photographed by Diane Arbus for Harper's Bazaar when he was 3 years old. He was a guest, along with his mother, on The Tonight Show in 1970. From age 10 to 13, Cooper modeled with Ford Models for Ralph Lauren & Calvin Klein.

Cooper's father died after a series of heart attacks in 1978, at the age of 50. Anderson Cooper: "I think I’m a lot like my father in several ways, we look a lot alike & we have a similar sense of humor & a love of storytelling. My father’s book- Families is a sort of a guide on...how he would have wanted me to live my life & the choices he would have wanted me to make, & so I feel very connected to him."

While in his mother's presence, Cooper's older brother- Carter Vanderbilt Cooper, committed suicide in 1988, by jumping from the 14th-floor terrace of Vanderbilt's New York City penthouse apartment. Anderson Cooper: "Loss is a theme that I think a lot about, & it’s something in my work that I dwell on. I think when you experience any kind of loss, especially the kind I did, you have questions about survival: Why do some people thrive in situations that others can’t tolerate? Would I be able to survive & get on in the world on my own?"

That terrible French man.

Anderson Cooper lives in a converted firehouse in Greenwich Village. He dates hottie- Benjamin Maisani , the co-owner of the gay bar- Eastern Bloc in the East Village. It seems that the 38 year old Parisian loves to work out. Fuck you, Maisani… Cooper needs a Daddy, & I know just the man to take care of all his birthday needs. Anderson Cooper turns a very foxy 45 yeas old today.

Good-bye, Supreme Leader. I Will Never Forget Our Afternoon Together

He was so misunderstood & unnecessarily vilified. I met him on Manhunt, not knowing exactly who he was, his screen name was Supreme Leader, which I took to mean that he was an Angry Asian Top, a sub-set in gaydom that holds my interest. Our exchange on the hook-up site:

Supreme Leader: “Hi, how are you?”

Stephen: "I’m fine, but horny... & you? I like your screen name, it's sexy.

Supreme Leader: “Me Horny too. I am most excellent, thanks. What’s your name?"

Stephen:  “Steve, & yours?”

Supreme Leader: “Kim Jong Il of course, but you can call me Dear Leader.”

Stephen: “That’s a great name. What are you in to?”

Supreme Leader: “That’s a stupid question. Haven’t you seen me on TV?”

Stephen:I think I have seen you in a music video?  Hmmm...Do you play the guitar or the drums?”

Supreme Leader: “No, I can’t. But I want to starve you & have you submit to my will. When I am done, you will see a double rainbow. Great ideology creates great sex."

Stephen: "I like what I am hearing. You have really captured my attention. Are you a top or a bottom?”

Supreme Leader: "I am Dicktator... & I want to invade you from the North. I have my missile pointed at you at this moment"

Stephen: “What’s your phone number? I want to hear your voice”

Supreme Leader: “Just look me up on Youtube.”

Stephen:OK. Do you like toys?”

Supreme Leader"No, I don’t. But I am into big Caucasian banana... but, my favorite thing to eat is kimche. I also like cookies & hamburgers. They’re delicious.

Stephen"You are a very interesting guy. Who’s your favorite singer?"

Supreme Leader: "I like Lady Gaga, she is beautiful. Do you like the song Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas?"

Stephen: “I love Fergie!.”

Supreme Leader: “Me too.”

Stephen: "We seem to have some things in common. What are you into sexually?"

Supreme Leader: "A man who dreads trials & difficulties cannot become a revolutionary. If he is to become a revolutionary with an indomitable fighting spirit, he must be tempered in the arduous struggle from his youth. As the saying goes, early training means more than late earning."

Stephen: "Hot! We should meet sometime..."

Supreme Leader: "I oppose the reactionary policies of the U.S. government but I do not oppose the American people. I want to have many good friends in the United States."

Stephen: "Well, I was sort of interested in a quick hook-up. But, I am always up for new friends."

Supreme Leader: "The liquidation of colonialism is a trend of the times which no force can hold back."

Stephen: "Yeah, That is what I am talking about!"

We did meet up & he was a little too kinky for me. He had this weird bouffant hair style & was wearing a pant suit & high heels. He asked me to dress as Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright who had called Kim Jung Il a pervert & she wasn't kidding. He dared me to put on a leather mask & talk to his ass. Now that he is gone I don't want to hold back, that man had a really little dick. But, there was a certain sweetness to him that I have never been able to shake, & let me tell you... Supreme Leader was brutal. It seems fitting that he died at 69.

Last night I had a dream that I was kissing James Franco, but it seems that sometimes James enjoys kissing himself. This is from today's NY Time Magazine's 14 Actors Acting:
