Summer Song #4... Nightswimming

Nightswimming deserves a quiet night
The photograph on the dashboard, taken years ago,
Turned around backwards so the windshield shows
Every streetlight reveals the picture in reverse
Still, it's so much clearer
I forgot my shirt at the water's edge
The moon is low tonight

Nightswimming deserves a quiet night
I'm not sure all these people understand
It's not like years ago,
The fear of getting caught,
Of recklessness & water
They cannot see me naked
These things, they go away,
Replaced by everyday

Nightswimming, remembering that night
September's coming soon
I'm pining for the moon
& what if there were two
Side by side in orbit
Around the fairest sun?
That bright, tight forever drum
Could not describe nightswimming

You, I thought I knew you
You, I cannot judge
You, I thought you knew me,
This one laughing quietly underneath my breath
Nightswimming

The photograph reflects,
Every streetlight a reminder
Nightswimming deserves a quiet night, deserves a quiet night

Happy Birthday To REM Frontman- Michael Stipe!

I am a big longtime fan of singer, songwriter,&  film producer Michael Stipe. I find him fascinating, talented & sexy. He turns 50 years old today!

"It was super complicated for me in the '80s ... I was totally open with the band & my family & my friends & certainly the people I was sleeping with. I thought it was pretty obvious." Stipe had always deflected questions about his sexual orientation, says he "didn't always see" how coming out could help others.

"But I see now, of course, that's the case," he says. "I'd just never felt strongly enough about a particular relationship to say, 'Yeah, he's my boyfriend, that is what it is.'"Now I recognize that to have public figures be very open about their sexuality helps some kid somewhere out there."

Stipe says he's "phenomenally overworked" but happy. He notes that he is in "in a relationship with an amazing man" – artist Thomas Dozol. In the past Stipe avoided questions about his sexuality, but he's now more comfortable discussing it. "I was being made to be a coward about it," he says, "rather than someone who felt like it really was a very private thing." He now readily describes himself as a "queer artist."

Last summer 2009, Stipe & the boyfriend published photos on the naughty site- guyswithIphones. I think Stipe is making a fine looking older man. I would love to hang with Michael. Mr. Stipe, have your people call my people.
