Details From Post Apocalyptic Bohemia

Does it seem in any way, odd, that I have been with The Husband for 33 years & I have no idea of his opinion of & personal experience with spirituality, except for those few moments when I have listened to him whisper in my ear: "Oh, God, do that again!"?

I do not want to have to contemplate it, but if I needed to face a federal inquiry from the US Department of Religion, I would have to declare that I am a secular Buddhist & the canines are decidedly Roman Catholic.

Buddha receives an appropriate exalted place in several spots at Post Apocalyptic Bohemia. As the Buddha stated: "The universe gave us a penis & a brain, but only enough blood to run one at a time."

Suffer, Bitch!

From my physician, I received the tough news today that I am not progressive like I should with my treatment for Massive Deep Venous  Thrombosis, & will have at least another 10 days of twice daily injections & the possibility of being on the other meds for the foreseeable future. I will continue with blood draws every day for a while... a perfect situation for a fellow who is needle phobic.

I have been a dilettante Buddhist for more than 2 decades. One central tenet from the life of the Buddha:
"All life is suffering & suffering comes from desire."

Here are just some of the reasons that I suffer:

I have not had a traveling vacation in 4 years, & really, who wants to fly these days? Me!
