New music...Classical + Punk

Jefferson Friedman is a 34 year old, classicaly trained composer from Julliard. Craig Wedren was the front man for the punk band- Shudder to Think. This is what happens when you put them together. They are performing Refuse To Die from On In Love, a song cycle composed by Friedman for Wedren.

We Are Stardust, We Are Golden

I love Joni Mitchell & I have loved her in 5 different decades.
She wrote the anthem for Woodstock, but she wasn’t there. Her manager thought it would be a better career move to appear on Dick Cavett. Fabulous Performance Artist- John Kelly has lovingly been doing Joni for several years now & he has been appearing in his show Paved Paradise at different venues around the NYC area. Tonight he is Joni at a concert at Castle Clinton at Battery Park as part of a series of concerts – Songs For A Shiny Hot Night commemorating the 40th anniversary of Woodstock.

The Husband & I are looking forward to the Ang Lee film- Taking Woodstock.

Jimmy Sommerville

Jimmy Sommerville is one of my all time favorite musical artists with Bronski Beat, Communards & his solo work. I have always associated this song with church camp when I was a youth in the 60s. This version of the Pete Seeger classic is haunting & timely. I hope Jimmy will pass up doing a cover of Kumbaya.
