Angelo Castro Jr. succumbs to cancer |
Castro's death was confirmed by ANC on its official Twitter account.
"Angelo Castro Jr., veteran broadcast journalist and anchor of ANC's The World Tonight, has passed away. He was 67." @ANCalerts tweeted.
Update: According to an ANC TV report, Castro succumbed to lung cancer. He died at the St. Luke's Medical Center surrounded by family members.
"The World Tonight" is the country's longest-running English primetime newscast. Castro was its anchor since it resurrected in 1986. He, however, took a 2-year break because of his illness and returned to the show just last November. -NoypiStuff
