Italian footballer Piermario Morosini died of heart attack on Saturday, Eurosport reported. He was 25 years old.
Morosini was rushed to a hospital after he collapsed during a Serie B match between his team Livorno and Pescara.
Livorno was leading the game when the midfielder suddenly fell to the ground in the 31st minute. He received urgent medical attention on the pitch before he was taken to the Pescara's Santo Spirito Hospital. However, despite medical interventions, Morosni was not revived.
At only 15 years of age, Morosini made his international debut for the U-17 team in September 2001. He made his U-21 debut in September 2006 and was called-up for the 2009 European Championships as back-up.
