Mexican Woman Pregnant With 9 Babies - Report

Karla Vanessa Perez Is Pregnant With 9 Babies (Info7)
A Mexican woman is reportedly having nine babies in her womb.

According to a Televisa report on Thursday, Karla Vanessa Perez is pregnant with six girls and three boys. She  underwent a fertility treatment which caused the multiple pregnancies, it said.

Perez, whose age was not disclosed, is currently being treated at a hospital in the state capital Saltillo. She is due to give birth on May 20.

If the delivery of the nonuplets would be successful, it would be one of the highest multiple births ever recorded in history.

In June 1971, Australian Geraldine Brodrick gave birth to a nonuplets but none of the five boys and four girls lived - two were stillborn and the last to survive died six days after birth.

A set of nonuplets were also born in Malaysia to Zurina Mat Saad in March 1999. She had five boys and four girls but none of them survived more than six hours.

In January 2009, American Nadya Suleman, dubbed as "Octomom,"came to international attention after giving birth to octuplets, six boys and two girls. One week after birth, the Suleman octuplets became the longest-living octuplets in known history.
