Olympics 2012 Swimming Results
Americans dominated the 2012 London Olympics swimming finals held at the Aquatics Centre in Olympic Park on Thursday, August, 2 2012, winning gold in three of the four events.

In the women's 200m Breaststroke, Rebecca Soni claimed gold after smashing her own world record in the final. The 25-year-old took control of the race after the opening length and touched in a time of 2:19.59, slicing more than four tenths of a second off her previous time. Japan's Satomi Suzuki claimed silver, with Russian Iuliia Efimova taking bronze.

In the second final of the evening, Tyler Clary snatched victory in a new Olympic record of 1:53.41in the 200m Backstroke, beating defending Olympic champion and team-mate Ryan Lochte who settled for bronze. Japan's Ryosuke Irie claimed the silver medal.

Meanwhile, Michael Phelps claimed his 16th Olympic gold medal and 20th in total with a thrilling victory in the men's 200m Individual Medley. He finished at 1:54.27, just 0.04 outside his own Olympic record. Ryan Lochte took silver in 1:54.90, with Hungary's Laszlo Cseh taking bronze.

Later on, the Netherlands' Ranomi Kromowidjojo ended Team USA's winning streak by powering to victory in the 100m Freestyle Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Belarus and Yi Tang of China took the silver and bronze, respectively.
