I have had some kind of facial hair for most of the past 40 years. Right now, I have a goatee, which is just perfect for a round face with a shaved head. That being said, I am a fan of the mustache. The mustache fell at of favor as gay boys became pretty boys swith their lucked brows, grooming, moisturizing, & highlighted hair. I like my men to be men. I think it is time for the return of the mustache. I appreciate John Water’s little pencil mustache, & if you can’t grow one don’t go with the peachfuzz on the upper lip. I am not sure about the Brooklyn + Portland hipster Edwardian gentleman’s waxed into some extravagant shaped thing. I mean a manly honest, unassuming mustache that is there because it fits the guy & finishes him off, like dotting an “i”, crossing a “t”, or adding an exclamation point. But , I realize that the mustache doesn’t work for everyone & can make a guy look like a dork, a has-been or a shithead. Ask Sean Penn.
