Overshooting the runway.

This morning at 5:30 am, I took my Mom to the airport.  She's been here for 10 days.  So anyway, we arrived there, I helped her get organized, dropped her off with all the hugs and goodbyes and headed toward home.

Somewhere along the way, I took a wrong turn and ended up lost downtown at sunrise.   Downtown at sunrise on a clear skied Sunday morning was beautiful and everything felt strangely abandoned.  It was eerie and the city belonged to me and a handful of people walking by until around 6:30am, when the other cars began filling the streets, taking it back from me piece by piece.  Eventually I stopped at Timmy's for a coffee & found my way home where N & I watched an episode of 30 Rock before the kids got up.

It was a jolly good morning.  I might just get lost downtown on a Sunday at sunrise more often.
