The Husband & I have always loved Joan River’s raunchy but always very honest brand of stand-up. This weekend we saw a fascinating profile on CBS Sunday Morning. I was struck & & had my memory jogged by the fact that this pioneering comic has always wanted to be considered a dramatic actor, & indeed she received good reviews for her performance in Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound & she was nominated for a Tony for her turn as Sally Marr in Sally Marr & Her Escorts.
Joan loves her Gays & she is the ultimate survivor. I am really looking forward to the new documentry- Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work. I am leaving the rest of the praise for this very funny woman to my friend & fellow blogger, the ultimate Joan Rivers fan- the very cute Michael Rivers of Michael Rivers the Blog. This must be a High Holy Day for Michael!
