the Post Apocalyptic Bohemain & the Husband on the way to the beach
Today in Portland, will be the warmest day of 2010... so far. This day will enjoy sunny weather in the mid-70s. This nudges me towards time spent at the beach. The earliest we have gone was May 14th, in 2007. It was warm, but not all that warm. I had to lay flat on the sand to feel warmed by the sun, if I sat upright, I would get goose bumps & very erect nipples.
I am/was a redhead & need to go slowly, but I am decidedly brown by Labor Day. The Husband tans well & easily & can do an uncommonly good George Hamilton imitation by mid-July. As he stated the other day when I found him sunbathing on the hot tub deck: "How can something so bad for you make you feel so good?" I thought you might like to see us in our stylish swimsuits, which of course come off at Rooster Rock or Sauvie Island.
Summer is my favorite season, I although it is a month away, I can't wait. The solstice may be the official start of summer, but in Portland I always hold that summer starts on July 5th. We have often had a fire in the fireplace on July 3rd, & the 4th is often celebrated in the rain.
